The story follows Isabella, an aspiring writer, supports herself by working as a bartender at an upscale club. During her free time, she dedicates herself to her book. However, her writing journey hasn't been as successful as she had hoped. The last thing Isabella desires is to be drawn to Kai, especially considering he embodies everything she believes she should avoid. They are complete opposites. Yet, an undeniable attraction exists between them that neither can ignore.
Kai Young, a billionaire businessman who is actively competing for the position of CEO in his family's business. His focus has been solely on work, diligently ensuring that his plans come to fruition. Kai is accustomed to always achieving his desires and seldom experiencing defeat. Despite this, he finds himself irresistibly drawn to Isabella, a waitress with distinctive purple hair. Despite his sincere efforts to resist, Kai cannot seem to distance himself from her.
One of the most enjoyable aspects of 'King of Pride' was the unique opportunity to experience the story from both Isabella and Kai's perspectives. It was a delight to delve into their individual challenges, witness their initial doubts about each other, and observe how their contrasting personalities managed to harmonize. I found immense pleasure in Kai's British earnestness and Isabella's lively and captivating demeanor. Reading their narrative became utterly captivating, leaving me with an addictive desire to continue exploring their journey.
