Product Description

Inferno is a 2013 mystery thriller novel & fourth book in Dan Brown's Robert Langdon series, following Angels & Demons, The Da Vinci Code and The Lost Symbol. You don't have to read the previous installments to enjoy the book. The cover of the book has the image of a historical monument situated in city of Florence, Italy.

This novel is a very philosophical one and within which Dan Brown investigated human nature, the future & over population and what our world might look like in the next few generations as far as running out of natural resources & in being crowded. Dan Brown spends lot of time investigating these philosophical type issues.

History and art are major themes in this book. Robert Langdon is racing through the streets of Florence and as he does so Dan Brown is giving us some history, some back round on the city itself and the way of life there, the culture there. And Langdon is also stopping at different pieces of arts, sculptures, paintings and other things. Dan Brown talks about the history of those pieces and the artists that created them. Dan Brown talks about Michelangelo, Leonardo Da Vinci, Sandro Botticelli just to name a few and it's a lot of fun to learn about these people and what they created and the importance of their contribution to Florence.

Brown utilitizes twists & turns in the book to keep the readers guessing. Everytime you thought you had it figured out something new came in that was quite brilliant. You don't quite get the whole picture until you finished the book. Themes like science, history, art work, sociological, philosophy, religion all make this book really fascinating read. It really makes for a great informative, fun, mystery, conspiracy, thriller kind of novel. It's really a good read.

Inferno begins with the readers being reintroduced to the same protagonist who was part of the author's previous two novels entitled The Da Vinci Code and The Lost Symbol. This protagonist, Robert Langdon, is all set to be a part of this new and intriguing thriller as well.

Harvard Professor Robert Langdon wakes up in a hospital room in Florence, Italy with a head injury and he does not know how he got there. His doctors informed him that he has amnesia. From what Robert is able to recollect, he was walking through Harvard's campus, when he suddenly finds himself in a hospital in the city of Florence, recovering from a head injury and shortly thereafter Langdon is racing through the streets of Lorence being hunted by trained killers and government agencies.

After waking up with amnesia in a hospital, Robert Langdon teams up with Sienna Brooks, one of his doctors, to protect the world from the evil plan of a mad scientist. However, things take a turn for the worse, when a female assassin tries to murder Robert.

Inferno then has Robert and a doctor named Sienna Brooks start off on a journey to find this assassin. As they search for the assassin, they encounter many dangers that could cost them their lives. However, much to their surprise, these dangers have solvable codes that focus on Dante's Inferno.
